Welcome to Sellwood Tamale Club

About ordering tamales

  1. Orders close at 6:30pm on Saturday for pick up the next day.

  1. The tamales come in packages of six tamales for $12 and you cannot mix and match flavors within a single package of six tamales (i.e. all six will be veggie or chicken).

  1. We are only helping this family by collecting your order information or questions and translating it into Spanish for them. We do not own, operate, control, or work for any food business, and do not prepare, handle, store, deliver, or sell the tamales. We do not supervise the kitchen, equipment, or ingredients used. We do not make any promises or guarantees about the safety, cleanliness, licensing, ingredients, allergens, cooking methods, storage, or delivery of the tamales. By submitting your order, you acknowledge you are accepting any risk and will not hold us responsible. Reminder that the distribution site is just a pick up location and is not the location where tamales are made and has no involvement in the making or the sale of tamales.

  1. We partner with Milk Crate Kitchen so you can purchase tamales as an in-kind donation to be delivered to folks who cannot leave their house right now or through community partners. To do this, just use the regular order form but select Milk Crate Kitchen as the tamale type.

  1. We cannot commit to the Tamales being ready for pick up by a particular time. We ask that you pick up by 7pm or let us know via email that you need more time.

  1. You must remember what you ordered (you can have a copy of your order sent to you after you complete the form) for when you pick up. Be sure to hit “Yes, I sent the payment button” after clicking through to “Pay with venmo”

  1. You'll pay when you submit your order and it will automatically connect you after you complete your order but if you have any trouble, pay directly at VENMO: @Mario-Hernandez-482 and if it requests the last four digits of a phone number click the button that says "Pay without confirming"; the picture associated with the account is a sort of yeti-looking creature.

  1. You can help out by spreading the word in communities you trust. You can send them the link to this website where they can join the email list.

  1. We'll email you when the tamales are ready for pick up on Sunday

  1. The pick up address is sent out via email after orders close for the week and is by Sellwood Middle School.

  1. Tamales are now being picked up by a volunteer right after the pick up window closes at 7pm for donation to families in need (also through Milk Crate Kitchen) so please remember to be in touch if you can't make it by 7pm.
